TRURO - Results of a weekend strike vote by custodians, bus drivers and maintenance personnel employed within the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board are expected today.

Meetings involving about 600 members of Local 3890 took place in Truro, New Glasgow and Amherst on Saturday.
CUPE national representative Terry Goulding says the strike vote dealt with issues of job security.
The previous collective agreement expired March 31, 2007.
Issues such as wage increases or wage parity are negotiated through the provincial government, but in this case outstanding concerns were to be negotiated through the school board.
Bargaining began in January and the sides were forced to enter conciliation talks in June.
