MALAGASH - Pugwash RCMP are looking for a dog that viciously attacked a senior last week at a beach in Malagash.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at MacLean's Beach when a man was attacked and severely bitten by a German shepherd.
The man was treated at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche before being transferred to the Colchester Regional Hospital in Truro.
The dog was on the beach with two women and two small children. The women, who appeared to own the dog, identified herself as "Monica." The dog has a full dark coat but had no collar, tag or leash.
Before the man and his wife left the beach they warned a young woman and two small children, who were approaching the beach, not to go any further because of the dog.
The Mounties would like to speak to the young woman or anyone who might know the owner of the dog. There are medical reasons for making the urgent request. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pugwash detachment at 243-2181.
