BIBLE HILL - Construction of a new greenhouse at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College will soon begin, officials said recently.
"The new greenhouse will enhance learning and research opportunities for our students," said Bernie MacDonald, co-president and vice-president administration.
"We will be able to provide state-of the-art growing facilities and give students hands-on experience that is inline with advancements in the industry."
Funding for the construction came through the federal Knowledge Infrastructure Program. The funding will also see two existing greenhouses, built in 1968, at Cox Institute receive renovations.
"Students will have an up-to-date working greenhouse for the start of class," MacDonald said.
Renovations on one greenhouse will be complete by Sept. 9 while the second requires more extensive work and will be complete by mid-October.
