Bag Sale
The Bridge Workshop will hold a fill-a-bag sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at 16 Station St., Amherst.
Aug. 29
The Amherst Masonic Society will host a blueberry pancake breakfast at the Masonic Temple, 20 Lawrence St., from 8 a.m. to 11a.m.
Favourite Hymns
An evening of hymns will be held at 7 p.m. at the St. George's Church, Parrsboro. Lunch to follow.
Blueberry Festival Supper
All-you-can-eat salad Blueberry Festival supper at Wallace Community Hall from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Proceeds for St. John's United Church.
A blueberry ham and pancake brunch will be held at Ottawa House Museum in Parrsboro from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Prayer Breakfast
A prayer breakfast will be held at Port Greville Baptist Church at 8 a.m. Guest speaker is Henry Wagstaff.
Vacation Bible School
Registration for Vacation Bible School at Amherst Wesleyan Church will be held
at the Amherst Centre Mall from 10 a.m-1 p.m.
Aug. 30
Oak Island Mystery
Ottawa House Museum in Parrsboro will host a guest speaker on the Oak Island Mystery at 2 p.m.
A roast beef supper will take place at the
Air force Club, Havelock St. from 4 to 6 p.m. Takeout available. Inquires 667-9262.
The Tidnish Community Centre will host a fundraising breakfast at the community centre from 8 a.m. to noon.
A cribbage tournament will be held at the Amherst 50+ Club, 52 Croft St. at 1:30 p.m., bring a partner.

An outdoor ecumenical church service, followed by a pancake and sausage breakfast, will be held at Collins Field, 8098 Highway 209, at 9:30 a.m.

Cribbage Tournament
A cribbage tournament will be held at the Springhill Senior Citizens Centre
(4 McDougal St.) at 7:30 p.m. Bring a partner.

Blueberry Supper
A Blueberry supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Collingwood Fire Hall. Sponsored by the Millvale United Church Women.
Sept. 13
Terry Fox Run
The Terry Fox Run for cancer research begins at 9 a.m., with grandparents and a family walk at McDonald's in Amherst, and the official run at 1 p.m., at the Cumberland YMCA. Registration at 12:30 p.m.
Sept. 14
The monthly meeting of the Royal Canadian Legion, Joggins branch, will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Open House
The 272 Amherst Army Cadet Corps will hold an open house for ages 12-19 at the Armories from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Call 667-4713.
Sept. 16
Immanuel United Church will be serving a turkey or ham salad plate and blueberry desserts from 4-6 p.m.
Scrabble Night
Scrabble night will be held at the Four Fathers Memorial Library in Amherst at 6:30 p.m. Call 667-2549.

Lynda Burke Memorial Walk
The Lynda Burke Memorial Walk begins at 10:30 a.m., at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan. Proceeds to the scholarship fund.

Wine/Cheese Theatre
The Anglican Parish of Pugwash/River John will host a wine and cheese theatre production in support of Autumn House at the Oxford Capital Theatre. The event runs four nights.
