N.S. communities receive $13 million for water and waste systems

AMHERST, N.S. - Another round of infrastructure spending will bring improvements to water and wastewater systems in several communities in northwestern Nova Scotia.
The federal, provincial and municipal funding will total more than $13 million.
The project for Amherst includes a new wastewater treatment facility, and a move to reduce the discharge of raw sewage into the LaPlanche River.
Work for Springhill includes designing and upgrading the municipal water and wastewater services.
The project in Oxford includes replacing water and sewer mains.
There's also a new wastewater treatment facility in the community of Maccan.
