PUGWASH - Pictou West NDP MLA Charlie Parker is calling on Health Minister Karen Casey to explain to residents in Tatamagouche and Pugwash how she intends to keep their hospitals open.

We have a new minister of health, but the same health problems persist, said Parker. The Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, in the Ministers own riding, and North Cumberland Memorial next door continue to close on a regular basis. Concerned residents in those areas deserve to see the roadmap the health minister is laying out for health care on the north shore and across Nova Scotia.

Parker said Nova Scotians have been waiting too long for the Conservative government to come forward with a plan to recruit and retain health care professionals.
