Snowfall warning for
Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass continued
Snowfall amounts of 15 centimetres are expected tonight.
A low pressure system is forecast to develop along the eastern seaboard today and approach the Maritimes from the southwest tonight. The system will reach southern Cape Breton Wednesday morning before moving off to Newfoundland. Because of its southerly origin this system will push slightly warmer air over Nova Scotia and as a result a sharp rain/snow transition line will become established.
An extensive area of snow will first spread across the province this evening. The precipitation will change to rain over southern and eastern sections. Heavy snow with some freezing rain is expected from Annapolis County to Colchester county to Cumberland county..Snowfall amounts of near 15 centimetres are forecast by Wednesday morning over inland areas..Especially over higher terrain. Along the Atlantic coast and over eastern sections..The snow will change to rain overnight..Resulting in snowfall amounts between 5 to 15 centimetres. The rain will become heavy over Guysborough..Richmond..And Sydney counties with rainfall amounts possibly exceeding 25 millimetres. Gusty southeast winds will develop over Cape Breton tonight in advance of the system..Gusts to 80 km/h are expected along the Atlantic however to the Lee of the Highlands gusts in excess of 100 km/h are expected.

I get weather warnings from the weather network sent to my email. The first warning came at 4:42 am, then again at 10:42 am, and then again at 3:42 pm. So, this storm has been 'storm warned' since early morning... wonder how many will be caught unaware, or complain about the storm. Also wonder why the newspaper picks rather late in the afternoon to post the reports for people travelling.
Yea, snow... I'm just thankful I'm not in Ontario... they're getting pounded by snow this winter.
