GLACE BAY, N.S. Cape Breton Regional Police say human remains found near a dump site in Glace Bay are those of a missing 20-year-old woman.

Police say they are treating the death of Brett McKinnon as suspicious.

McKinnons family has been notified of the results of an investigation by a forensic anthropologist and a member of the provincial medical examiners office.

The remains were found by two hunters on Nov. 21.

McKinnon went missing from the community in June 2006.

She was 20 when she disappeared and although there had been a report she was camping in Ontario in July 2006, there has been no concrete evidence indicating she ever left Cape Breton.
