Springhill - In a re-match with the only team they have lost to this year, the Ross Refrigeration Cumberland County Cool Blues trounced the Cape Breton Canadiens by a score of 6-1 at the Richard Calder Arena on Friday night.
"The team played consistent hockey for three periods," Cool Blue coach Dave Hyatt said after the game. "Defensively we're getting better and better. We're close to where we want to be defensively but we're not 100 per cent of the way yet.
Asked what players deserve kudos for their play on the night, Hyatt said, "Justin Landry, Ryan Kay, Jordie Shaw, Cody Firth and David Burke all had a great game."
Scoring for the Cool Blues were Firth with two goals, Burke, Kay, Matt Noiles and Cody Roach.
Cool Blues goaltender Andrew Court faced 23 shots while his teammates generated 42 shots worth of firepower.
Ryan Smith, Jordie Shaw and David Burke each had two assists, while Matt Noiles, Nathan Lavigne, Justin Cortes, Ryan Kay and Aaron Morrison each had single assists.
The Cool Blues have two weeks off from playing at home.
Their next game is Monday, Oct. 27, against the Blazers in Sackville, then on Nov. 4, the Blues travel to Brookfield.
