Pugwash man victim in Red Deer homicide

AMHERST - A 27 year-old Pugwash man living in Alberta was slain on Wed, Aug. 27, resulting in the first homicide charge for the city of Red Deer in three years.
Red Deer R.C.M.P. were called to a disturbance early Wednesday morning and found 41-year old Blair Andrew Neill with multiple injuries and took him to hospital. Returning to the scene, 27-year old Nathan David Casey, formerly of Pugwash, was discovered in a vehicle a block away from where Neill was originally found, also with injuries. He was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.
Red Deer R.C.M.P. stated the men knew each other and their injuries were related to the same disturbance.
Neill was charged with the death of Casey and was scheduled to appeared in court on Friday.
An outpouring of tributes and remembrance for Casey and condolences for his friends and family following his death have found there way to the Internet website user group Rest In Peace Nathan Casey on Facebook, remembering the young-man as funny, likable and the centre of many high school crushes.
Funeral arrangements have been forwarded from Pierson's Funeral Service to Mundle's Funeral Home in Pugwash.
