PARRSBORO: Ship's Company Theatre spent the afternoon of May 10 honouring their many volunteers with the first annual Volunteer Kick-off.
The 2008 season Volunteer Kick-off began with strawberry shortcake; tea and coffee being served followed by entertainment from the music group "Jeannie and the Bad Boys."
"There were 85 volunteers invited to attend this afternoon's volunteer appreciation event," Ann Kernohan, event coordinator and Board of Directors member.
"This event is a way to show how much everyone at the Ship appreciates the crew of volunteers that help out in many ways not only throughout the Ship's summer season but with all events throughout the year," Kernohan said.
"I can't begin to say how much the executive and directors appreciate Ship's volunteers. We just wouldn't be able to function without their support," Marketing/Fundraiser coordinator Rena Kossatz said.
Ship's Company's first annual Volunteer Kick-off went from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Baptist Church Hall in Parrsboro.
