PARRSBORO: A 37-year old female Parrsboro resident was found no worse for wear after being reported missing on Sunday, May 11.
The woman was traveling with a male companion in the vicinity of Yorke's settlement when the couple experienced car trouble. The woman along with their dog went for a walk while her companion worked on the vehicle according to Cpl. John James of the Parrsboro RCMP Detachment.
"The woman was out in the weather all Saturday night," Cpl. James said adding that It was quite windy and cold that night.
"After being out in the cold all night the woman came across a cabin where she was able to put on a fire," the corporal said.
Jams also said the woman was not reported missing until the next afternoon (Sunday) at 2:30pm and was located along with the dog that evening at approximately 8:00 pm in the area of Harrison Lake Road.
After the notification to the RCMP of the missing person the Parrsboro office of the Cumberland District RCMP, the RCMP Dog Handler as well as an Incident Commander and the Springhill Ground Search and Rescue team began the official search.
Once found the 37 year old female was examined by EHS Paramedics and suffered no serious ill effects from her experience.
