Purpose, passion and education

AMHERST - Over 200 women gathered at the Lions Club in Amherst Friday to celebrate International Women's Day.
They ate delicious free sandwiches served by volunteers, enjoyed live music and listened to guest speaker Tammara Ashe speak passionately about how women need to look out for one another, both at home and abroad, if the world is to become a better place.
Her watchwords for change were purpose, passion and education.
"We need to live with purpose and passion," Ashe said, "We need to be real. We can't continue to walk past people who are in desperate need if we want to change things in this town.
