Icewine gala comes to Malagash

Malagash Jost Vineyards will be hosting a evening Icewine Gala Feb. 16 participating in the Winery Association of Nova Scotias inaugural Winter Icewine Festival.

The festival celebrates Nova Scotias internationally award-winning icewines with a number of events across the province from Feb. 14 to Feb. 24 and will offer foods prepared by some of the provinces finest chefs and cheese makers, along with icewine and wine tastings, ice sculptures, art, cooking classes, snowshoeing, vineyard tours, get-a-ways, product features and more.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Malagash winery will offer pruning demonstrations, in-store wine sales, door prizes and $2 icewine samples.

An evening gala will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., offering an icewine pairing contest, door prizes including an overnight stay at the Old Orchard Inn, Wolfville, hor doeuvres and icewine specials.
