Though they may have shown a little bit of rust in their first game back from Christmas break with a loss to the Straight Pirates last Friday night, the Cumberland County Cool Blues proved they are back in winning form

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Though they may have shown a little bit of rust in their first game back from Christmas break with a loss to the Straight Pirates last Friday night, the Cumberland County Cool Blues proved they are back in winning form with wins against both the Antigonish Bulldogs on Jan. 6, and the Pictou County Scotians in Trenton on Monday night.
The Cool Blues defeated the Scotians by a score of 6-4 in a hard fought battle that saw goals off the sticks of Ryan Kay, Ryan Smith, Murray Bavis, Adam MacDonald and two from Cody Firth.
"The boys battled hard," said coach Ron Reynolds. "They played through a lot of adversity tonight.
"The Scotians played a very chippy game," Reynolds added. "They ran our goaltender and forced Matt Kimber out of the game in the second period so Landon Crowe came in and stood on his head. It was a very cheap play on their part."
The last time Cool Blues fans got to see their team at home was on Dec. 14, against the Bay Ducks but the long dry will finally come to an end when they take on the Brookfield Elks on Friday, Jan. 11, at the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill.
"Brookfield always comes at you, they work hard," Reynolds said. "But if we play our game we should be fine. It will be a good game, that's for sure."
Cool Blue Fast Fact: After losing their first two meeting against the Bulldogs, the Cool Blues have now turned the table and won their last two games against their Sid Row Division rivals.

Organizations: Cumberland County Cool Blues, Pictou County Scotians, Sid Row Division
