ANTIGONISH - Chris Goghen's goal at 15:31 of the second period proved to be the game-winner as the Amherst Ramblers defeated the Antigonish Bulldogs 2-1 here Friday.

Doug Doyle gave the Ramblers 1-0 lead from Matthew Leverman and Zach Carson at 2:24 of the second period.

Goghen converted on his goal from Clifford Mugford and Fred Roy.

Phillippe Cote got one back for the Bulldogs in the third but that was as close as they would come.

Andrew Flemming stopped 30 of 31 shots for the win while Bryan Gillis stopped 22 of 24 shots in the loss.

The Ramblers host the Halifax Wolverines in a 7 p.m. contest at the Amherst Stadium tonight.
