AMHERST The Pic N Grin family will remember Betty MacLean in their second annual memorial concert for cancer Tuesday night, but this year will be adding another name to that memorial list as well.

Also on their minds will be Claire Kaufman, another friend of the group who passed away during the past year after a fight with the dreaded disease.

She was one of the strong supporters of Pic N Grin back when we started it, said group member Larry Ogden. We went through about three or four months where things didnt look too bright, and she kept saying dont give up. Six years later, we had standing room only at our show Tuesday night.

For many local charities, its a good thing the group didnt stop. During the past six years Pic N Grin has raised $38,000 for various charities, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Red Cross and Maggies Place.

Last year they held their first show in memory of MacLean, a long-time friend and supporter of the group, and decided to build on that success with another show this year. A donation will be accepted at the door for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The event will take place at the Tidnish Community Centre on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 7-9 p.m.

We keep doing it because we love it, said Ogden.
