Michelle Pieroway learned yesterday of her ranking when it was posted on the FHM website, and was thrilled to be chosen.

"The votes got me there, then I had to prove myself with pictures," she said. "I think I did that, and it feels amazing."

Pieroway was one of 103 women selected out of thousands of entries for Digital Darlings, a competition decided by an online voting process during the spring. She finished in the top 20, winning the opportunity to go to Paradise Island in the Bahamas for a weeklong photo shoot with the other finalists.

While there the women participated in activities at places such as the beach, the casino and the water park, as well as their sessions with the FHM photographers. Pieroway admitted to being nervous during the shoot, but was pleased with the results.

"We had great photographers to work with, and it was fun to play dress up and have people doing our hair and makeup," she said.

The top 10 girls are expected to participate in other FHM events in the year ahead, and Pieroway also has been in touch with modelling agencies.

"I think a couple of cool things are going to come out of it," she said. "I'm going to continue to pursue it. I've got a taste of it, and now I need more."
