Bomb threat closes schools
RIVER HEBERT Students at both River Hebert District High School and River Hebert Elementary were sent home following a bomb threat early Friday.
Details surrounding the threat are unknown at this time, but RCMP in conjunction with the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board elected to send students home for the day because the buildings could not be immediately searched by the RCMP dog.
"This type of threat is both exasperating and disruptive to student learning, however, we believe we have to meet threats like this one with an appropriate response," family of schools supervisor Scott Milner said. "Exercising due diligence while providing protection to our students and staff is of utmost importance to our board."
Milner said the person responsible for calling in the threat will be sought out by police.
