Halfway through her lifestyle change program, Susan Coish feels like she is losing track a little bit.

Coish and three co-workers at the Amherst Daily News embarked with Simply For Life in February on a mission to eat healthier, feel better and lose excess weight in the process. For her, that road has been tougher lately.

"It has nothing to do with the people at Simply For Life, but I don't feel as motivated," she said. "I think at the beginning you have such a great loss and feel skinnier. Motivation is the key."

She has lost 12 lbs. so far, gone from a size 14 to a size 10, and said she feels great, but on busier days while in a rush she finds it is just too easy to grab food that she knows she shouldn't eat.

"I feel like I need to meet (consultant) Lonney (Bezzina) twice a week instead of just once, because every time I see him I'm fine for 3-4 days," said Coish. But then I'm off the wagon again."

Roger White has had no problem staying motivated. Having lost more than 40 lbs. and gone from a size 46 to a size 40, he receives motivation every time he looks in the mirror or puts on a pair of pants.

Right now White is the lightest he has weighed in eight years, and if he reaches is goal weight of 190 lbs. he will be the lightest he has been since 1986. He said he can now take the stairs without getting winded, and that he feels great.

"My motivation is to basically see the results every day," he said. "This is not for those who need it, it's for those who want it."
