PARRSBORO – A car wash was held in Parrsboro Saturday in memory of the Woods brothers, with proceeds going to research for juvenile diabetes.

On Saturday, co-workers and family of the brothers joined together with suds and sponges in memory of the brothers, who drowned in January of this year, and to raise funds for diabetes research, a goal that seemed appropriate, with Michael Wood’s oldest son, Grant Wood, having been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes in January of 2010.

Grant’s mother, Tanya Wood, said when the idea of the car wash was presented to her she was glad to go with it.

“We thought it was a good idea, so we got all the family involved. It’s been very busy, we’ve not had a lull yet.”
