Amherst has picked its town councillors. George Baker, 1859 votes; Frank Balcom, 1752; Robert Bird, 1586; Lisa Emery, 1785; David March, 1899; and Terry Rhindress have all been elected to council. Not elected were Art Marks whgo received 687 votes, Dale Fawthrope, who received 1560 votes, and Ed Childs, who received 1250 votes.
SPRINGHILL TOWN COUNCIL UPDATE: 8:51 p.m.
The town of Springhill has elected its new council. Harold Delaney, 981 votes; Doug Dobson, 880 votes; Darrell White, 854; and Jack MacDonald, 844, make up the newest council. Lance Lockwood was not elected but received 715 votes.

Keith Hunter was re-elected, gaining 407 votes over Rod Gilroy, who received 258, and Joe O'Byrne, who received 45.

The town of Springhill has elected a new mayor. Maxwell Snow won the mayoral race over incumbent Allen Dill with 661 wins. Dill came in not far behind with 617 votes and David Wyatt finished with 34 votes.

OXFORD UDPATE: 7: 51 p.m.
Trish Stewart has been declared Mayor of Oxford. In the advance polls Stewart lead with 57 votes, Arnold MacDonald with 52 and incumbent Lloyd Jenkins with 27. In the A-L poll, Stewart kept the lead with 83 votes. MacDonald garnered 70 and Jenkins gained another 38. At final tally, it was clearly a tight race between Stewart and MacDonald. Stewart captured 238 votes, just 25 more than MacDonald's 213. The incumbent, Jenkins, accomplished 92 votes
