AMHERST SCHOOL BOARD UPDATE: 9:41 p.m.

David Myles 1747 and Richard Allen 1111 votes. Myles has been elected to the school board over Allen.

After 20 polls, the votes stand as follows:

Richard Allen with 961 and David Myles with 1526

AMHERST SCHOOL BOARD UPDATE: 9:06 p.m.

After 18 of 22 polls, the votes stand as follows:

Richard Allen: 822 votes

David Myles: 1325 votes

AMHERST TOWN COUNCIL UPDATE: 9:03 p.m.

Amherst has picked its town councillors. George Baker, 1859 votes; Frank Balcom, 1752; Robert Bird, 1586; Lisa Emery, 1785; David March, 1899; and Terry Rhindress have all been elected to council. Not elected were Art Marks whgo received 687 votes, Dale Fawthrope, who received 1560 votes, and Ed Childs, who received 1250 votes.

SPRINGHILL TOWN COUNCIL UPDATE: 8:51 p.m.

The town of Springhill has elected its new council. Harold Delaney, 981 votes; Doug Dobson, 880 votes; Darrell White, 854; and Jack MacDonald, 844, make up the newest council. Lance Lockwood was not elected but received 715 votes. 

DISTRICT 3 UPDATE: 8:49 p.m.

Keith Hunter was re-elected, gaining 407 votes over Rod Gilroy, who received 258, and Joe O'Byrne, who received 45.

Mike McLellan won with 562 votes over incumbent John Reid who earned 279.

DISTRICT 7 UPDATE: 8:31 p.m.

Daniel Rector was elected over Kelly Milner and William Park with 255 votes. Milner finished with a total of 119 votes and Park finished with 70.

DISTRICT 5 UPDATE: 8: 29 p.m.

Lynne Welton wins over Katheryne Langille with 214 votes. Langille brought in 142.

SPRINGHILL UPDATE: 8: 28 p.m.

The town of Springhill has elected a new mayor. Maxwell Snow won the mayoral race over incumbent Allen Dill with 661 wins. Dill came in not far behind with 617 votes and David Wyatt finished with 34 votes.

Keith Hunter stands with 105 votes with Rod Gilroy trailing behind with 59 and Joe O'Byrne taking in 16.

OXFORD UDPATE: 7: 51 p.m.

Trish Stewart has been declared Mayor of Oxford. In the advance polls Stewart lead with 57 votes, Arnold MacDonald with 52 and incumbent Lloyd Jenkins with 27. In the A-L poll, Stewart kept the lead with 83 votes. MacDonald garnered 70 and Jenkins gained another 38. At final tally, it was clearly a tight race between Stewart and MacDonald. Stewart captured 238 votes, just 25 more than MacDonald's 213. The incumbent, Jenkins, accomplished 92 votes

Bill Baker wins with a final talley of 274 over incumbent Kathy Redman (173)

With three polls left to count: A-L, M-Z and the advanced polls, mayoral candidate Trish Stewart has opened with a strong lead over candidate Arnold MacDonald. Incumbent Lloyd Jenkins trails behind.
