The warm weather has finally arrived. Most of us didn’t believe it was going to come as we were all still trudging through knee deep snow in April. Warmer temperatures are here despite our excruciatingly long winter. There are more hours of daylight and people are out looking for things to do.
Sometimes we might not know where to look for what our community has to offer. The Community Fair is an annual event hosted by the Town of Amherst Community and Economic Development Department.
The event promotes various organizations and groups within Amherst as well as informs the public of what our community has to offer.
This year the Community Fair is being held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Amherst Stadium. This event is a chance for service clubs and community groups to gain exposure, promote, recruit, and fundraise.
If you are looking to volunteer your time or are looking for a new activity for you or your children – then this is the event.
This is a chance to educate yourself in what our community has to offer and how you can get involved.
You and your family will be entertained by community leaders speaking with enthusiasm about what their organizations have to offer. This event also facilitates networking between groups and promotes community projects. Networking encourages new and exciting partnerships that work to strengthen economic relationships in our community.
Participating in the event is a great way to show your support of local initiatives. There are also many benefits on a personal level of being involved with your community. It can help you shake the winter blues, connect with others and provide a sense of belonging. This event is free of charge and a food vendor will be onsite. So come on out and get connected!
