Consultation meeting will be hosted at Credit Union iPlex auditorium on Oct. 23.

Swift Current is one of eight communities hosting a SaskCulture community consultation regarding how to best to deliver cultural programs and services in light of Saskatchewan's changing demographics.

The meeting for all residents across the Southwest will be hosted on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Credit Union iPlex auditorium.

Consultations are being held across the province this month to provide input to SaskCulture on how the province's changing demographics are impacting the delivery of cultural programs and services across Saskatchewan.

With a growing First Nations and Métis youth demographic, combined with the ongoing arrival of newcomers to Saskatchewan, there are a series of new opportunities in the cultural sector.

The consultation meetings are collecting input to further explore the impact of the growing diversity in communities around the province to ensure the cultural sector can respond to these changes in an informed manner.

Meetings have already been held in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Yorkton and Weyburn. The consultation will conclude with meetings in North Battleford (Oct. 17), Regina (Oct. 22), Swift Current (Oct. 23) and Humboldt (Oct. 29).
