Greetings from River Hebert. Although it may be raining today, I am sure that many of you would agree that we have been enjoying more than our fair of sunshine of late, especially when compared to all of the wet weather that we received earlier on in the spring. Bring on the sun!

Condolences are sent out to the family of William (Bill) Agnew (formerly of River Hebert) who passed away on Sunday, May 29 at the age of 91 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Bill was a coal miner who worked the mines of River Hebert and Joggins for 40 years. Bill’s funeral took place on June 1. Donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Nova Scotia Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choosing. Rest in peace Bill.
