Spring Fling to be held at school

Hi again everyone from the outer edges of Advocate Harbour with the beautiful view of the harbour and Bay of Fundy.

Mike and Jean Booth have returned to their home here after spending the winter in Florida. Welcome back.

Ina and Doug Spicer spent a few days visiting David and Berla Orr in Cambridge last week.

Darrell Davis spent a few days at his home here last week.

Mark and Georgia Cleveland of Prince Edward Island spent the weekend at their home here.

On Saturday, April 23 a Spring Fling will be held at the Advocate school. Beginning at 7 p.m., the cost is $7 for adults and children are free. There will be entertainment, silent auction, fudge sale and a lunch.

On Sunday, April 24 (Easter Sunday) communion will be held at the Advocate United Church at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome!

On Thursday, April 28 I will be doing Mother’s Day crafts at the library from 3-4 p.m. The cost is free.

Starting Sunday, May 1, church service at the Advocate United Church will be at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome!

The next Spencer’s Island Bingo will be on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at the Advocate Fire Hall.

On Saturday, May 7 the Advocate United Church will be having a ham and scalloped potato supper with homemade beans, dessert, tea and coffee from 4:30-6 p.m. with take out from 4-4:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

On Saturday, May 7, the annual Spring Fair will be held at the Advocate school from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a Frenchy’s, a yard sale, bake sale, cake walk, bouncy tent, face painting, books and plants, fish pond, straw pull, gem tent, canteen with barbecue and more.

If anyone has any donations of yard sale items, books, plants, clothing or baking it would be greatly appreciated. You can drop any of these items off at the school or call 392-3400 for pick up.

The next community luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at noon. On the menu this month will be scalloped potatoes, homemade beans, weiners, biscuits, dessert, tea and coffee. Everyone is welcome.
