Friends, family home for the holidays
Guests with Alta and Murray Fife for Christmas Day were son Kenneth and wife Iris from Springhill, and grandson Brandon and friend from Fredericton. Brenda and Wyman Bowden of Fox River also visited one day during the holiday season. Alta and Murray also spent some time with their son Kenneth and family in Springhill.
I would like to extend deepest sympathy to the family of Thora Meldrum, who passed away recently. Thora was my neighbour for years and a good friend. Also sympathy to the family of Donna Mosher, Boar's Back Road. Donna was a very friendly person, and she will be missed by her parents, husband and siblings.
Mary and Cedric Gilbert were so happy to have their grandson, Michael Gilbert, wife Leisa and son Donavon from Ottawa come and spend a few days with them at Christmas. Their son Brian from Lower Sackville spent time with his parents also. Other visitors were their granddaughter, Kenda Riles, her children and her mother of Lower Sackville.
On Chrstmas Eve day I enjoyed a lovely turkey dinner with my daughter, Debby Chapman, husband Neil and all their family in Tidnish. On Christmas Day my family dropped in and later in the day I enjoyed another turkey dinner with my son Lyle and wife Betty in Nappan. It was so nice to have my granddaughter, Marney LeBlanc, and husband Mark from Summerside, P.E.I. join us.
Margo and Skip Gilbert were happy tp have all their family from Amherst home for Christmas dinner.
Linda and Alan Lake were happy to have family visit at Christmas, including son Scott and his companion Sandy and children Seth and Shayna, Parrsboro. Mark and his son Dylan also spent Christmas with them.
Linda's sisters, Theresa Taylor and Barb Trask and husband Charlie, Parrsboro, also visited during the holiday season.
Early in the holiday season Sheila and Greg Lowry and daughters Alycia and Samantha from Lower Sackville visited with Sheila's parents, Justine and Russel Fife. Darrel Fife and companion Bobbie and children Liam and Adam from Fredericton were home for New Year's, and other dinner guests at Christmas were Wanita Lewis, Springhill, and Wesley and Petra Reynolds, Moncton, N.B.
Jessica Wheaton, who is attending the Centre of Geographic Science (COGS) in the Annapolis Valley, spent the holiday season with her parents, Phyllis and Charles. Jackie Smith was home to spend the holiday season with her parents, Tracy and Greg Smith. Jackie is attending St. F.X. University in Antigonish.
Patti and John MacKenzie and family Katelyn, Jacob and Jordan from Stewiacke spent Christmas at their cottage here. They were joined by Patti's parents, Jo-Ann and James Allen of Fox River and other members of Patti's family.
