Family bowling

The Cumberland Pride Society hosts Family Bowling Night at King Pin Lanes. Bowling begins at 7 p.m., cost is $5 per person. For more information email cumberlandpride@hotmail.com.

Read Away Your Fines

Students with library fines in Amherst can read them away for one day only from 3 to 7 p.m. Grades 7-12. Read for 30 minutes and have their fines forgiven.

Movie time

An after school movie time will take place at the Miners Memorial Library in Springhill on from 3 - 4:15 p.m. This movie is for ages five to 12 years and is free.

Dec. 10

Food and a movie

NSCC Business students present the award-winning documentary “Manufactured Landscapes.” The film examines global and environmental issues around consumer behaviour. One Show Only: 10 a.m. at the Paramount Theatre. Admission: Donation of non-perishable food items for the Amherst Food Bank.

Benefit

A benefit will be held at the Tidnish Community Centre with friends and family of Heidi & Holger Renner to help during Heidi’s continuing battle with illness. The event will take place between 2:30 & 4:30 p.m.

Cribbage

Breakfast

Knights of Columbus breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. at the KofC hall, Robie Street. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, coffee, tea, juice and milk.

Puppet Shows

Advocate Harbour Library will host a puppet show from 10 to 11 a.m. for all ages. Visit for stories, a craft and puppet fun. Please call 392-2214 to register.

Christmas songs

The King’s Kids Choir will host an Evening of of Christmas Songs at 6:30 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church.

Musical Evening

A musical evening will be held at Immanuel United Church, 25 Hickman St., Amherst at 7 p.m. Little Nashville will be the featured performers.
