Memorial service well attended
DILIGENT RIVER -The memorial service on Aug. 8 at the United Baptist Church here was well attended and the music was wonderful.
Tjose providing music included Dale and John Wilson and Leonard Crossman, Dave and Elaine Baker, Crystal Fisher and friend, as well as our wonderful pastor, Greg. The organ was under the direction of Helen Morris.
Following the service, the ladies of the community served the guests a beautiful lunch.
The memorial service is mainly to reach out to those folks who have a connection to the church in any way. Donations in memory of loved ones are recognized by reading the names that are submitted. The organizations wish to thank everyone who provided music, food, and those that attended.
The Music Night at the Diligent River Hall was a success and another is planned for Aug. 28.
The casserole supper originally planned for Aug. 21 has been put on hold until a later date, the reason being that the updating of the power supply is not completed.
The St. John Anglican Church in Diligent River will hold a service of baptism on Sunday, Aug. 22. One person to receive the act of baptism will be a seventh generation of one Anglican family from this area.
The service is to be at 2 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

The winner of the Shore Drive Community Barbecue was Terry Neves of Parrsboro. Terry and his wife were delighted.
The August meeting of the Shore Drive association will be held on Friday, Aug. 27, 7 p.m., FPW Fire Hall, Port Greville. Fall programs and a new executive will be introduced.
