Walk For Autism

Piece by Piece Autism Association will hold a Walk For Autism beginning at noon., at Cumberland Mental Health Services. Call Elaine Mazur at 230-2053.

Relay for Life Fundraiser

A Relay for Life fundraiser will be held at the Old Warehouse Restaurant and Lounge from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. and will feature an open mic. Admission is a donation at the door.

Roast Beef Supper

A roast beef supper will be served at the Maccan Legion from 3-6 p.m.

Turkey Dinner

A turkey dinner will be served at Christ Church Parish Hall in Amherst from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Take-outs available.

Roast Beef Dinner

A roast beef dinner will be served at 4 and 6 p.m., at the Leicester Fire Hall. Call Sharon Siddall at 546-2598 for tickets or contact any Three Way 4-H Club member or leader.

Bake/rummage sale

Nappan United Church’s annual bake and yard sale. 8 a.m. to noon.

Bake and rummage sale at Amherst Wesleyan Church, 50 Cornwall Ave. 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds for the building fund.

Pancake Breakfast

A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 a.m.-noon at Linden Community Hall.


An auction 45s tournament will be held at the Amherst 50+ Club, 52 Croft St., at 1:30 p.m. Registration at 1 p.m. Please bring a partner.


A hot and cold supper will be held at the Mount Whatley Hall beginning at 5 p.m. Proceeds to go to the Chignecto 4-H Club.

Coffee house

The Salvation Army Springhill Community Church will host a Coffee House with Musical Guest Carol & Bruce Hoeg from 7:00 - 8:15. Lunch to Follow. Free Will Offering.

Spring concert

The Bel Canto Singers of Fredericton, conducted by Anne Sessa, will present their Spring Concert on Sunday, May 2, at 4 PM at Trinity-St. Stephen’s United Church, Amherst. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for children age 12 and under. Tickets are available at Trinity-St. Stephen’s Church, One Ratchford Street, and at the door.

The River Hebert Village Commission’s annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m., at the River Hebert Fire Hall. All welcome.

Classic Movie Night

The Four Fathers Memorial Library will show the 1933 comedy She Done Him Wrong, beginning at 7 p.m. Feel free to bring a snack.


The annual meeting of the Lorneville Cemetery Co. and Baxters Cemetery Society will begin at 7 p.m. at the Lorneville Church.

Card making

Join us at the Amherst library to make Mother’s Day Cards and Whirligigs. Grades P-6. 3-4 pm. Please call 667-2549 to register by May 3.

Cemetery clean-up & annual meeting

The Thomson Cemetery clean-up to commence around 5:30 p.m. Meeting to follow at the Bethany United Church in Thomson.

A spring fashion show will be held at Trinity-St. Stephen’s United Church in Amherst at 7 p.m.

Book Collection

The Amherst Lioness Club is collecting good used books for the Highland Fling. Drop them off at the Amherst Curling Club between 3-7 p.m. For pickup, call 667-1649 or 667-1620.

Relay for Life Fundraiser

There will be a cake auction at the Amherst Centre Scotiabank branch with home baked cakes. Cake viewing and registration begins at 8:30 a.m., auction at 8:45.

CHC Auxiliary will hold its annual Highland Fling at the Amherst Curling Club from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Mother’s Day Tea

A Mother’s Day Tea will be held at the River Philip Community Hall, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Quilt, rug and cross-stitch displays, bake and jewelry tables. Lunch available.

ATV Fun Run

The Cobequid Off Highway Vehicle Club is hosting an AVT fun run from the Lamp Cabin in Springhill. Registration from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Call Keith at 667-0889 or Corey at 597-2411.

Mothers’s Day tea

A Mother’s Day tea will run from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Oxford Fire Hall. $5. Hosted by the Oxford Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary.


Pancake & Maple Syrup Brunch 11 - 2 pm Malagash Community Hall. Also serving homemade beans & brown bread, sausage, dessert, juice, tea & coffee. Adults $8, 12 & under $4, preschoolers free. Proceeds for Malagash United Church.

Crib tournament

The R.C.A.F. Assoc. 105 Cumberland Wing on Havelock St. will be holding a Crib Tournament with registration at 1 P.M. and play to start at 1:30. Inquiries 667-9262.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Mother’s Day Brunch at the Northport Community Centre from 9 a.m. to noon with proceeds going to support the Northport Hillside Cemetery Company.

Northport Hillside Cemetery Company annual general meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Northport Community Centre.

Community Luncheon

A community luncheon will be held at the Log Building on Mills Road, Advocate, beginning at 12 p.m. Sponsored by the ADDA.

IWK Fundraiser

A fundraiser for the IWK Children’s Hospital will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Collingwood Fire Hall.
