Community luncheon slated for Tuesday

Stanley Johnston and his sister, Shelly Johnston of Halifax, visited their parents, Ellen and Floyd Johnston, for the weekend.
Susan Wakefield and Nigel Field of Halifax spent the Easter weekend at their home here.
Mark and Georgia Cleveland and their daughter Katie of Prince Edward Island spent the weekend at their home here.
SueAnn Clarke and Darrell Davis went to New Glasgow to get her brother, Erroll Cleveland, and brought him back to Advocate for the day to visit his mother, Hazel Cleveland.
Nicky and Tammy Bennett and their children of Prince Edward Island spent the weekend here visiting his mother, Margaret Bennett, and her mother, Linda Shepherd, and family.
Tim and Darlene Bennett and their children of Halifax spent the weekend at their home here.
On Saturday, April 10 I will be showing the Disney movieUpat the library at 6 p.m. Feel free to bring a snack. Cost is $2 or $5 for a family. This is sponsored by the Cumberland Regional Library.
Until further notice, the Advocate library hours are changing next week. It will be open Tuesdays starting on April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 13, the community luncheon will be held at the log building at noon. On the menu this month will be a fish or seafood chowder, turkey soup, biscuits, tea, coffee and dessert. Everyone is welcome!
On Thursday, April 15, Family Games Night will be held at the library on Mills Road beginning at 6 p.m. We have Monopoly, Connect 4, Pictureka and other games to be played. Come for an evening of fun with your family.
On Sunday, April 25, the Advocate United Church service will be held at 2 p.m with speaker Wayne Jarvis.
The Lucky Duck Draw tickets are here and time is running out, as the tickets won't be on sale for much longer. Donnie Fletcher and I have tickets that are $1 each and first prize is $3,000.
I am now selling Parrsboro Radio Bingo cards. If you wish to play, you can come to the library on Thursday evenings starting April 15 to play. Bingo is from 6 to 7 p.m. The cards are $2 for a book of two cards for five games.
Badminton is still happening on Monday and Thursday nights at the Advocate school.
If you want to lose weight, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday night at the Advocate Fire Hall at 7 p.m.
