At three regional Annual Meeting and Informational Meetings held in Mankota, Swift Current and North Battleford on March 25 and 26, Innovation Credit Union’s Board of Directors was pleased to announce that 2012 was another successful year, with strong balance sheet growth and careful cost management resulting in approximately $2.35 million in patronage payments and — for the first time — a cash dividend of 4.58 per cent paid to members, based on active equity accounts as at December 31, 2012.

“We were very pleased to announce the patronage allocation and first-ever cash dividend to our membership,” said Board President Gord Lightfoot. “Our future is exciting. We’re leaders in the credit union system; we’re member-focused and community-proud. We are financially strong and look to gain further momentum in 2013.”

Innovation CEO Dan Johnson attributed their success to outstanding staff and loyal membership.

“We work hard to attract, retain, and develop top-quality employees,” said Johnson, “and I cannot say enough about the dedication and skills of our people. Our staff members are continuously taking advantage of development opportunities to serve our members better. It’s a privilege to be part of such a dynamic and ambitious organization.”

Lightfoot also welcomed members of the Eastend Credit Union, who voted in favour of amalgamating with Innovation effective Jan. 1.

“We welcome the members and staff of Eastend Credit Union to the Innovation family and extend that welcome to other credit unions that may choose to join or partner with us in the future.”

In appreciation of Innovation’s members, the Annual and Informational Meetings featured a member reception and guest speaker, Paul Martin from Martin Charlton Communications, who gave a unique perspective on the role of Saskat-chewan and Canada on the global scene.

With 28 locations throughout Southwest and North Central Saskat-chewan, Innovation Credit Union provides a full range of financial services to 48,000 members — including individuals, businesses and organizations — across the province.
