AMHERST - Demolition of McDonald's on South Albion Street has begun in earnest. A large piece of construction equipment worked its way into the heart of the building this morning, crushing and tearing. Steel girders were pulled from the building and dumped with a clang in the parking lot.
A new McDonald's is being built on the site. It will have an updated appearance and a play area for children. It's expected to open before the end of the year.
