As the president of Pearl & Daisy Natural Soap Company, the smiles were a given thanks to more than $70,000 in a repayable loan from the federal government.
"We are excited to have our products become better known throughout the region, country and world," she said in a press release regarding the announcement.
The funding, to the tune of $70,950, will help the two-employee business expand into markets in the United States and Europe. With the funding, Pearl & Daisy will purchase two new pieces of equipment - one to weigh their product when they package it, and one to package a new liquid handsoap the company is starting this winter.
The company will also use the funding to redesign their packaging and labels to conform to international requirements.
