[YARMOUTH, NS] — Tri-Star Industries Limited has received $195,000 from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency as a repayable contribution to implement a marketing program.
The funding will help support the expansion and modernization of the company's production of ambulances, mobile clinics and secure vehicles.
The program includes advertising, promotional materials, website development, prototype marketing, trade shows and product demonstrations.
Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament for West Nova, announced the funding on Thursday afternoon at Tri-Star Limited's plant on Forest Street.
The company has been in the business of designing and manufacturing ambulances, emergency equipment and specialty vehicles since 1973 and plans to expand and promote its business to new locales around the world.
"Tri-Star is committed to continuous improvement through innovation," said Keith Condon, president of Tri-Star Industries Limited. "As we expand and modernize our production facilities and equipment, this investment will help us to promote our upgraded product in a global marketplace where the need for high-quality, fully-equipped products like ours is increasing."
Condon said 15 additional jobs would be provided through the new program. Another funding announcement concerning the company will be made by the provincial government on Monday.
