ST. GEORGE, N.B. - New Brunswick's fisheries minister is urging federal agencies to resume the search for two fishermen whose vessel disappeared last week in the Bay of Fundy.
Rick Doucet has asked federal Fisheries Minister Gail Shea and New Brunswick MP Greg Thompson to determine if sophisticated electronic equipment could assist in the search and recovery.
RCMP say Harold Cossaboom, 45, and Corey Cossaboom, 36, were on board the 12-metre scallop dragger "Whole Family"' when it went missing Thursday night.
The vessel was based out of White Head on Grand Manan Island.
The active search was called off Friday and the matter was turned over to the RCMP as a missing persons case.
Searchers have recovered debris believed to be from the vessel.
