EDMONTON - Alberta conservation groups want federal Environment Minister Jim Prentice to step in to ensure the survival of woodland caribou.
They say provincial efforts to save the declining forest icon are going nowhere in the face of industry pressure and it's time Prentice acted on recent comments that Canada's international image is being blackened by energy development.
