ROTHESAY, N.B. - Former New Brunswick MP Elsie Wayne is continuing her recovery at home after suffering a stroke in November.
Wayne was released from the Saint John Regional Hospital on Feb. 2, more than three months after being admitted to the facility.
Her husband, Richard, says Wayne is still in a wheelchair but is making use of a walker.
He says hospital staff have been coming to their home in Rothesay to help with rehabilitation, and the 77-year-old is feeling stronger every day.
Wayne announced she was quitting politics in February 2004, ending a political career in Ottawa that spanned more than a decade.
She never lost an election after beginning her political career in 1977 as a city councillor, and was mayor of Saint John for four terms in the 1980s and early 1990s.
