MIRAMICHI, N.B. - A 16-year-old New Brunswick youth was killed Saturday when the snowmobile he was riding on collided with a barbed wire fence.
RCMP say that Devon O'Donnell and his father were riding their snowmobiles in an open field near the Pipeline snowmobile trail in Williamstown when the accident occurred.
Both men were transported to hospital by paramedics, where the son died and the father was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The father, Preston O'Donnell, of Lower Derby, N.B., was released from hospital on Sunday.
