HALIFAX - Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter says his government is following up on commitments made to people in the Yarmouth area concerning the future of their ferry service.
He promised a delegation from the town that he would try to get a federal study on regional transportation issues moved up from an anticipated spring release.
Dexter says he has phoned and written those overseeing the study but so far has not had a formal response.
The province says it can't afford to subsidize the high-speed ferry to Maine any longer.
Operator Bay Ferries says without that help, it can't afford to provide service.
