OXFORD - The Cumberland County Exhibition kicks into full gear today with a number of events at the exhibition grounds in Oxford.

Today is 4-H Day at the ex with events kicking off at 8 a.m. and continuing with various showmanship and conformation classes during the day, the tug-of-war semifinals and finals as well as the parade of 4-H clubs, junior host and hostess competition and trophy presentations.

The midway will also operate on the exhibition grounds.

Events continue at the arena and in the second stage through Saturday with the street parade in the morning and a number of events in the afternoon and evening.

Here is today's schedule:

8 a.m. Draft horse mane and tail showmanship-driving llama showmanship

9 a.m. Rabbitt and cavy showmanship and conformation

9:15 a.m. Tug-of-war weigh-ins

10 a.m. Poultry and waterfowl showmanship and conformation, sheep showmanship and conformation

10:30 a.m. Tug-of-war preliminaries

11 a.m. Beef, dairy and sheep clipping competition

11:30 a.m. Beef and dairy showmanship

12:15 p.m. Beef and dairy conformation

2 p.m. Goat showmanship and conformation

2:45 p.m. Poultry and waterfowl showmanship

3 p.m. Tug-of-war semifinals

3:30 p.m. Entertainment by Judy Richards & Friends

4:30 p.m. Grand Champion livestock showmanship

5 p.m. Tug-of-war finals

6 p.m. Parade of 4-H clubs, junior host and hostess competition, trophy presentations

7 p.m. Robert Mattatall Band on the Second Stage

7:30 p.m. Barrow auction

8:30 p.m. Simon Says
