NEW MINAS, N.S. - Efforts are underway to mop up after a major fuel spill today at a truck stop in New Minas, N.S.
Fire chief Jim Redmond says a truck backed into a tanker ripping a hole in it.
By the time they were able to get there and plug the hole about 1,000 litres of aviation fuel had spilled.
Redmond says they were able to clean up some of it while hazardous materials teams and the Environment Department were called in.
A second tanker was brought in so the remaining fuel could be pumped out of the damaged one.
