STEWIACKE, N.S. - Nova Scotia's Liberal leader says he'll be looking for funding to help farmers if his party comes to power in the June 9 election.
Stephen McNeil says the sector needs help to be sustainable and viable.
McNeil says the Liberals would enter into negotiations with Agriculture, Agrifood Canada and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
He'd be looking for the development of a transition fund available to farmers.
McNeil says that would give farmers the flexibility to respond to changes in the market.
He also wants to work on carbon capturing and biofuels to help farm families.
