Its a very tedious process to put this thing together. Were pretty much on schedule for the various pieces of the puzzle were putting together right now, said Vidabodes chief marketing officer Nathaniel Clevenger. We still remain in an organizational stage. Were not quite at a production stage yet. Its a little premature for us to talk too much about it.

Vidabode, a company financed by a group of investors, purchased its site in the Amherst Industrial Park in December 2005 in plans of it being its first manufacturing facility and world headquarters. The company had created a lightweight concrete panel system that theyre marketing to non-profit organizations that want to build affordable housing around the world.

Their product is supposed to be a much more versatile version of concrete.

Our whole purpose of being is to develop housing. Theres an enormous housing shortage in the world right now, Clevenger said. Im not suggesting that we can provide houses for everyone on the planet, but we have created a technology and a process, called the Vidabode Production System, to be able to quickly, and efficiently, and effectively create homes.

Clevenger said they expect to be up and running here by the end of this year or early 2008. He had no idea how many jobs the factory would provide.
