One company's exit from town is another one's entrance, as Liquidation World will move into the former Rossy location in Amherst Town Square this summer.

Darryl Chenoweth, vice-president of operations for the Calgary-based company, said they plan to set up shop in Amherst by mid to late July.

"We have been pursuing a bunch of other markets in the Maritimes, Amherst being one of them on that magical path that leads from Nova Scotia to New Brunswick," said Chenoweth. "The demographics all worked for us, we feel the location is very good, and all the moons aligned that made sense for us to secure that site."

Liquidation World offers services that include the retail liquidation of consumer merchandise through more than 100 outlets across North America, as well as store-closure sales management.

The company opened its first retail outlet in 1986 and is now the largest liquidator in Canada, with more than 1,800 employees in outlets and offices across Canada and the United States.
