Carson captures first leg of junior golf tour

TATAMAGOUCHE - Zach Carson of Amherst fired a 73 to win the opening leg of the McDonald's Junior Golf Tour by two strokes over Parrsboro's Peter MacLaren at the Ocean Links in Brule recently.
MacLaren won the low gross title in the junior division with Amherst's Travis Parrell placing second at 79 while Andrew Rideout won low net honours.
In juvenile, Marcel Amirault of Amherst shot a 77 to win low gross honours in the division while Thomas McCrossin of Amherst placing second, five strokes back. Jordan Letcher or Amherst won the low net crown.
In midget, Tyler Porter of Amherst won the low gross nod with a 77, defeating Amherst's Tyler Landry by five strokes.
Parrsboro dominated low net honours in the division with Brett MacIsaac placing first, Devin Atkinson finishing second and Zack Perrin third.
Joel McCrossin of Amherst won low gross honours in peewee with a 92, 10 strokes better than clubmate Lucas Sangster.
Noah Perrin of Parrsboro won the low net crown in the division with Amherst's Ben Bacon placing second.
Erin MacIsaac of Parrsboro won the low gross title in the girls division with Jade Atkinson of Parrsboro taking low net honours.
