ARHS Vikings Begin Season With Split

ARHS Vikings pitcher Logan Dowe gave up just one earned run for the ARHS Vikings in 5 solid innings on Saturday in a tough 7-1 loss to the CEC Cougars. The Vikings showed character by rebounding to win game 2 of the doubleheader by a score of 11 to 5. ARHS is now 1 and 1 on the season.

AMHERST-The ARHS Vikings baseball team opened their season by splitting a doubleheader Saturday with the CEC Cougars at Robbs Centennial Complex.

CEC won the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 7 to 1. Logan Dowe pitched 5 solid innings for the Vikings, giving up only 1 earned run.  MacKenzie LeBlanc pitched the final 2 innings for the Vikings.  Brandon Greeno had 2 singles while Emmit Smith, Evan MacKenzie and Baiden Landry singled once.

The second game of the twin bill went considerably better for the ARHS Vikings as they downed the CEC Cougars by a score of 11 to 5.  Brandon Greeno pitched  4 innings and helped his own cause with 2 singles.  Brady Davis pitched the final 3 innings for Amherst. Matt Hunter and MacKenzie LeBlanc doubled and singled for while Josh Sperry added 2 singles apiece. Logan Dowe and Evan MacKenzie both added doubles while Emmitt Smith rounded out Amherst’s offence with a single.
