Y’s Guys edge Mixers in extra innings

AMHERST – The Y’s Guys needed two extra innings to beat the Casey Concrete Mixers 14-13 during Monday night Amherst Little League action.

Jake Adams led the Y’s Guys, hitting in four runners off four singles and one double.

Tyler Baker hit a two doubles and a single for the Y’s Guys, Zack Boudreau hit a triple, Jayden Matheson hit a double and a single, Dylan Goodwin hit two singles, Colson Brown hit a single and Cameron Hardie hit a single that brought Matheson in for a run at the bottom of the seventh inning.

Tyler Baker pitched six innings for the Y’s Guys and Jackson Comeau pitch two innings.

They combined to strike out 14 batters, while giving up nine hits and 17 walks.

Jackson Colborne pitched six innings for the Mixers and Reese Blakeney pitched two innings.

They struck out 14 batters, while giving up 15 hits and eight walks.

Josh Arsenault hit three singles for the Mixers, while Nic Baigent hit a double, and Landon Veno hit two singles.

Ethan Herrett, Colborne and Blakeney hit one single each.

– Cubs vs. Lions (Foster field)

The Lions beat the Cumberland Paving Cubs 10-2 on the Sonny Foster field.

Graden Chitty pitched the win for the Cubs, striking out 16 batters, and giving up two hits and five walks.

Braydon Nichol hit a double and a single for the Cubs, Chitty and Julian MacDonald hit one double each, and Colts Stevens and Jordan MacKenzie hit two singles each.

Cal Hoeg pitched two innings for the Cubs before Ethan Casey came in for relief. They combined to strike out 10 batters, while giving up eight hits and 10 walks.

Hoeg hit a triple for the Cubs and Broc McEachern hit a double.


Little league also took to the field on Friday after last Wednesday night and Thursday night’s contests were cancelled due to rain.

Cubs vs. Mixers

The Cubs beat the Mixers 8-5 off pitching from Hoeg, who pitched four innings, and Brandon Hicks, who pitched the final two innings. They struck out 12 batters and gave up seven hits and four walks.

Hoeg had three RBI’s off a triple, and Audrey Hoeg also had three RBI’s off of two singles.

McEachern hit a double and a single for the Cubs, Reese McLean hit two singles, and Luke Carde and Kyle McCarthy hit one single each.

Colborne pitched for the Mixers, striking out eight batters, while giving up nine hits and five walks.

Colborne hit a home run, Cam Vance hit a triple, Arsenault hit three singles, and Herrett and Baigent hit one single each.

Lions vs. Y’s Guys

The Lions edged the Y’s Guys 5-2 off the pitching of Chitty. He struck out eight batters, and gave up 10 hits and three walks.

MacKenzie hit a triple for the Lions, Chitty hit two singles, and Cole Stevens and Nichol hit one single each.

Comeau pitched for the Y’s Guys, striking out 14 batters, while giving up five hits and five walks.

Matheson hit a double for the Y’s Guys, and Comeau, Baker, Goodwin, John Adams, Hardie and Jake Adams hit one single each.

Amherst Little League continues Wednesday night.
