AMHERST – Amherst Adult Hockey League continued with several games last week.

Bluewave Energy vs. Elmtree Pub & Grill

The Elmtree was capsized by Bluewave Energy, as Amherst Adult Hockey League leading scorer Matt Cormier scored five goals to lead Bluewave to a 10-4 win over the Elmtree. Mark McLeod added two goals and two assists.

Ian McCarthy scored two goals and Victor Wright scored a goal and three assists for the Wave

Corey Skinner scored two goals and an assist for the Pub with Andy Bonnell and Mike Hunter adding one goal and one assist each.

Also assisting for the Pub was Mike Archibald and John McNally with two assists, and Mitchell Tower with one assist.

Elmtree goaltender Alex Legere faced 39 shots, and Stephen Pugsley faced 28 shots playing in goal for Bluewave.

Colson Overhead Doors vs. J&K Electric

Colson Overhead Doors is on a four game win streak after edging J&K Electric 11-10 during AAHL action last week at Amherst Stadium.

Luke Crocker led the Doors with two goals and six assists, while Preston Burns had one goal and five assists.

Stephen Skidmore added two goals, while Scott Beed, Mark Bennett, Steve Brown, Jarrod Fraser, Bill Jobes and Ryan Reynolds added one goal each.

Justin Matthews scored four goals and four assists for the Electric, while his former Amherst Ramblers teammate, Shane O’Byrne added three goals and three assists.

Mike Black added two goals and two assists, and Jason Rhinas had one goal and one assist.

Colson Overhead Doors vs. Bluewave Energy

In another close game, it was the Doors downing Bluewave 6-4 last week at Amherst Stadium.

Six goals were spread among six players on the Doors roster.

Mark Bennett, Brad Blenkhorn, Preston Burns, Matt Colson, Luke Crocker and Mike Gould had one goal each.  Burns, Colson, Crocker, Jarrod Fraser and Bill Jobes added two assists each, while Bennett and Blenkhorn scored one assist each.

Matt Cormier led Bluewave with two goals and two assists, while Joel Stronge and Victor Wright added one goal each. Geordie Fields had three assists for Bluewave, Wass Lewis had two assists and Tony Wood added one assist.

Jarret Munn faced 23 shots in goal for Colson, while Gilles Hache faced 18 shots in goal for Bluewave.

With six games left in the AAHL regular season schedule it doesn’t look like anybody will catch Cormier in the scoring race. He currently leads the pack with 95 points, 44 goals and 51 assists.

He is followed by J&K Electric’s Justin Matthews who has 38 goals and 39 assists. In third place is his J&K teammate Adam MacDonald. He has 52 points, 32 goals and 20 assists.

In fourth place is J&K’s Shane O’Byrne, who has 21 goals and 28 assists.

Matthews and O’Byrne, both of Amherst, were teammates with the Amherst Ramblers.
